Why I'm so busy, why I never pick up the phone, and why I never like your posts on social media.

7 May 2023

As some have pointed out, it's pretty difficult to get a hold of me from time to time. I still have my social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, but I'm not a very active user. I also have a phone number, but my phone is pretty much always on 'Do Not Disturb'.

I intentionally engineered that approach with the sole purpose of optimizing my time, enabling me to allocate it precisely as I desire.

So it's not that I don't like your post, it's just that I don't see them.

When I started my first company, I spent three months figuring out a normal day for me:

β€” 8 hours sleeping
β€” 2 hours working out/showering
β€” 4 hours deep work
β€” 1 hour lunch and walk
β€” 3 hours deep work
β€” 4 hours with friends/family
β€” 1 hour of sex/hugs/love
β€” 1 hour researching/reading

That 24 hours. It's all pretty tight. If I start answering messages, scrolling social media, doing calls or watching tv, I wouldn't have enough time in the day.

I'd start skipping the gym, skipping going for walks, skipping sex, and not being able to do deep work anymore. My health, relationships and work would slowly start falling apart. This schedule works for me and I don't want to change it at the moment.

Life is short. I prioritize what truly matters to me by cutting out distractions and focusing on loved ones, meaningful connections, and pursuing my passions in both personal and professional endeavors.

This is of course an average day, and just for now. I’m not a robot. Somedays I spend 2 hours on Instagram reels and watch movies too. πŸ˜‰β€οΈ
